Part 2 of our annual pilgrimage to the Barossa Valley in South Australia.

At the risk of turning my site into my own version of a Facebook page, I have posted here a short (<4 min) video of the second part of this years visit to the Barossa Valley to find new wines, revisit old ones and stock up on our collection of reds for the upcoming cold winter in Melbourne.

After leaving the Coorong area on Sat 6th April we headed for Hahndorf for Chris’ annual reunion with here 4 sisters. Then the following day we headed for Tanunda in the Barossa.

For the past 3 years we have been included in a group of fellow Victorians, introduced to us by our good friends, Phil and Julie. They have made Chris and I very welcome and we now feel that we are an integral part of the team. This group of wine lovers have been visiting the Barossa at around the same time each year for the past 40 years and have been purchasing many, many, cases of wine over that time, resulting in the group being well known to many of the wineries. Consequently we are often give a little extra attention on our visits. They know we are not just “tyre kickers” and we often get attended to by the wine maker/owner or a member of their family.

Unfortunately Chris and I made a slight error in our planning this year, and ended up only staying in Tanunda for 3 days, so we did not get to a few of the wineries that we had intended to.

Anyway here is the video:
