2022 Barossa Valley trip then follow our nose heading west #1

This post is very late in coming as we have now been on the road since the 16th March when we headed straight for the Barossa Valley in lieu of our normal practice of spending a week at our favourite bush camp at Salt Creek on the Coorong.

My only excuse is that we were too busy for me to sit down and organise photos and write the blog.
we are currently chilling out in Carnarvon WA, waiting for the weather to clear so the we can head for the Kennedy Ranges and Mounts Augustus.

But lets get back to the beginning, a fabulous week as usual in the Barossa tasting and buying some some fabulous wines plus a quick trip to Noarlunga, south of Adelaide for Chris to have her annual reunion with her sisters (four).

After the Barossa we then went to Aldinga Beach and chilled out, plus an overnight stay at our good friends John and Lydia Lacey. See Johns web site here: https://johnlacey.com.au/. An amazing and very successful artist.
In total we stayed in the McLaren Vale/Aldinga area for a week and a bit then headed for Mount Remarkable to meet  up with Harold and Di who had a delayed departure from Melbourne due to Harold having surgery on his shoulder. They missed out this year on the annual wine muster.

On our way to Mount Remarkable we received a call from Phil and July who were tracking us on my active/live map link. The were on around the same latitude as us but further to the west on near Spence Gulf and subsequently joined us and Harold and Di at Mount Remarkable where we had a couple of pleasant nights.

After 2 nights we headed for Pt Augusta to get supplies etc before heading down the Eyre Peninsula with an overnight at Tumby Bay before heading to Coffin Bay where we stayed until Easter Friday then headed for Elliston for the remainder of the Easter Weekend. We then then Spent 3 nights in Streaky Bay where we again met up with Phil and July who had Left us at Port Augusta to take up their National Park booking at September Bay just out of Port Lincoln.

From Streaky bay we headed for Fowlers Bay and lo and behold, once again had a night in the company of Phil and July.

Fowlers Bay was our last stay before crossing the WA/SA border.

Next post, heading across the Nullarbor

I was wondering where you might be as we were in Perth last week. Would have loved more time but a bit busy. Thanks for the mention and check out my latest work on my site.
Keep safe and have a good trip.
