Now we are into the second/third week of our trip down the Canning Stock Route.
We should have by now driven to Alice Springs on the main highway then taken the Tanami Hwy (“Hwy” is a sick joke perpetrated by the map makers and roads authorities) to Billiluna then headed south down the CSR (Canning Stock Route).
I would estimate that we would be somewhere near Well 33 which will give us access to a store, shower and fuel at an aboriginal community called Kunawaritji. In recent times the community has decided to service the travellers of the Canning by supplying some facilities. We (Chris and I, Harold and Di) experienced this last year (2016) when we crossed the Gibson Desert east to west which crosses the Canning Stock Route in this area.
Because there is no opportunity and no PC on board to post “en route” I have scheduled this and one more post to update those curious enough to check our current whereabouts.
Please see our live map here
Once we arrive home I will post some excerpts from our adventure plus some photos.
Cheers for now
Graham
