After a fairly limited tour in 2012 when we did “The River Run” and an almost non existant tour last year (house renovations getting in the way) we are off this year for 5 to 6 months.
The plan is once again of “The journey is the destination”, and while some readers will be aware of where we intend to head, most will be in the dark. All will be revealed as we progress except to say that we will be revisiting some favourites and then heading into some exciting areas that we have not previously visited (well not for about 30 years at least).
We set out from Melbourne at about 9:45 am last Monday (the 26th), headed for Sydney to visit family. After spending 2 nights in Sydney and spending some quality time with the grand children, we have this morning hit the road and headed west toward Bourke and beyond. Keeping up to date with blog posts as we travel is going to be a little difficult given the sparesity of internet/mobilephone access, but will do what we can. In the meantime you are able to keep track of our whereabouts using the “Map – 2014 outback Tour” tab or use the link below.
Track us here http://blog.picsaustralia.net/wp/?page_id=6652.
The tracking is in real time unless we are stationary and is independent of internet access or mobile phone coverage, so it will always be up to date. Don’t now why Malaysian Airlines couldn’t do the same.
First night on the road in Gundagai.
