Graham and Al’s Excellent Adventure.

2015, being a year that we have decided not to do any extended travelling (mind you that said we have already spent a month in Darwin and 4 weeks in South Australia and Canberra), my mate Al and I decided we should do a blokes trip into the outback for a few weeks.

WARNING! All “smart arse” Breakback Mountain comments will be moderated (DELETED!). 😀

Our wives seemed content to stay at home with some time to themselves and to spend some time with the grand children. Chris has decided that she will drive to Canberra and Sydney for the school holidays in June/July.

Our planned route is to Dalhousie Springs via Oodnadatta, The Painted Desert and Mt Dare then across the Simpson Desert to Birdsville where we intend to catch up with another mate (Nicko) and then meander down through Innamincka, Tibooburra, Pooncarie and then home.

It is not likely that I will post updates while on the road as the lap top is staying at home, due to an issue of room, and besides, the lap top is Chris’ and I do not like processing photos on tablets, (Ipads etc.) So posts will more than likely have to wait until I get home. Anyway I will see how it goes, who knows maybe I will.

However if you would like to track our progress, (as if you have nothing better to do) starting on Sat the 20th June  (today) please see our progress map here. This map is in real time and will show our most recent position (within 10 minutes).

Hope you both have a great time! Destinations sound very interesting. Your departure has come round so quickly that I hadn’t realised you had left already!
You’ll be much warmer where you are than here!
    Cheers Di

    Hi Graham ,
    Sounds like a great trip.
Jill & I are sitting in our caravan in the cold at Peterborough on our way to Darwin.
When you get to Mt Dare say g’day to Elise who has just left Loch Sport to work at the pub.
