This year we are setting off for a brief 4 month trip into the Australian outback. So do we have a plan? Yep, sort of, but mother nature and rain may force some re-planning as we go.
So do I tell my readers our plan? After some consideration “No”. I think allowing the map to develop is probably a little more intriguing.
So to follow us go here to the Live Map of our travels that is updated every 10 mins when we are on the move.
This year for the first time we will be travelling with companions. Our good friends Harold and Di are keen to experience some more outback travelling after having “whet their whistle” in 2014, when they joined us for a month in a hire 4WD and we travelled the Gibb River Road, Including the Mitchell Plateau, together.
We will be travelling across some very remote country so from a safety point of view it will be great to have a 2 vehicle party. Fuel will be a major issue as we anticipate a need to have a range of at least 1000 km. 1000 km in a vehicle is not a huge problem but when towing a 2.2 tonne camper over poor roads fuel consumption increases sharply.
So a few photos to set us on our way.
Till next post which might be some time.
Cheers from
Graham, Chris, Harold and Di
Keeping a watch on you four. Happy and safe trip.
Love, Helen.
Thanks Helen
Enjoy the updates from you adventurers – keep em coming.
Best Ted & Lee.

OK ….got the Popcorn ready, feet up , ready for the next adventure….looking forward to all the ” getting bogged ” pictures as you enjoy the outback wet..
Seems you are moving along quite nicely and no doubt enjoying the scenery. Looking forward to following you along the way.
Di – this note was in ‘Your Say’ in the Herald Sun yesterday – Bridge Option Sellout, Labor’s claim that it puts people first is hard to swallow for Alphington residents. Apparently the logical eastern option of the Chandler Highway bridge upgrade is not a goer because of a $30million cost difference – such a small drop in the big cash bucket that was spent to not build East West Link.
Working with the developer of the newly cleared ex-Amcor site for an all-round win-win situation for old and new residents was clearly not a VicRoads or Labor option. Shame. Reneka Hart, Alphintgon.
Now how true this all is I don’t know, but I thought you might be interested and do you know Reneka Hart?
Oh sooo jealous. We are holding the fort in civilization while you guys are away. Send us some outback vibes when you get a chance. Take care and safe travels!
